distros.watch is a weekly ranking of Linux distributions built only from public numbers. It's run by one person, Ziyad Jad, with no investors, no sponsors and no ads.

Who runs it

I have spent seven years in Linux forums and communities, and I have worked as an editor for a number of global websites.

Why this site exists

Most "best distro" lists are opinions, or popularity counters that anyone can game by refreshing a page. I wanted a ranking where every number has a public source you can check yourself, and where a distro only moves when its numbers move. The full method, with every source, is on the methodology page.

Independence

• No distro project pays for, reviews or approves its position.
• The ranking method is published, and every change to it is logged.
• distros.watch is not affiliated with DistroWatch.com or any distribution.
